Statistics of deaths due natural disasters over the past decade

I found these shocking facts on the Internet that prove that a human isn’t almighty yet. According to the overall statistics, about 60% of people were killed in nature disasters. Twenty percent of which died due to storms. The Centre for Research on Epidemiology stated that more than 790,000 people were killed by 3,852 disasters.

The biggest amount of deaths took place in Asia, almost 85%. The Asian tsunami in 2004 killed more than 230,000 people.

Earthquakes are dreadful. They bring the biggest number of victims. The earthquake in Haiti killed more than 100,000 and left around 200,000 of Haitians without accommodation. _________________________________

What’s going on? Why does Mother Nature makes millions of people suffer? Perhaps, she's taking her revenge for our cruel attitude toward her.
