the lake of Baikal, Baikal Lake, Siberia, environment Russian police took a rigid step against an environmental group, which had disputed a plan of reopening a paper mill near Lake Baikal, also known as the “Pearl of Siberia”.

The police claimed that the raid was held in order to find out the purpose of using unlicensed software. Therefore, the environmental group was left without their computers. The main problem is the shut paper mill. It was closed in 2008 by the president Vladimir Putin due to pollution fears.
